Perth, the county town, lies about 15 miles to the south and provides a comprehensive range of facilities.

Dunkeld, the ancient Royal Burgh, lies only a few miles to the west and provides a good range of local stores, and a golf course, as well as the ancient cathedral and impressive houses on the square.

There are interesting and recognised walks in the area with superb bird watching opportunities, including the osprey reserve at the Loch of the Lowes.

 

Pitlochry boasts its “Theatre in the Hills”, whilst there are excellent golf courses at Rosemount (9 miles), and the Championship courses at St Andrews and Gleneagles beyond.
